As a financial advisor I want to make sure that you know there are alternatives to the usual mutual funds and GICs that you may already be investing in. That is, I can get the same or similar type funds that come with some guarantees, such as paying back the greater of the market value or 100% of your original investment after a prescribed period of time. Does the same thing on death.
That is, if you were to pass away during the term, it would pay back 100% of the original investment plus any growth.
The funds also bypass probate, so it’s another very cool feature to the product and would offer creditor protection as well in the unfortunate event you might need it.
I actually have a very cool product available that does participate in the stock markets. It gets you similar type returns as participating in the market without any of the risks, so it has the same guarantees and has no fees. It’s a very, very safe no-risk product with all of the upside.
