Having been in financial services since 1996 in one form or another, I decided in 2009 to specialize in mortgages.
With a variety of experiences from car loans and mortgages to financial planning and investment advising, I knew I could help people with the biggest decision of their lives – purchasing a home. The philosophy behind this is that my business would be built on helping people achieve their dreams and goals of home ownership, rather than simply selling mortgages. This approach worked so well that in 3 short years I opened my own brokerage to have even more impact on the way things are done.
I work well with all types of buyers, from first time buyers to seasoned investors, and specialize in the educational side of obtaining a mortgage. I believe that a client should know exactly what they are getting into when applying for a mortgage, what the differences between lenders are (this is important!), and what the best option or solution for their unique situation would be. The mortgage world has become a confusing one, and while simply filling out an application is one way to get a mortgage, there is a lot more to it than that and I am happy to share all the details that go on behind the scenes.
In addition to mortgages, I do offer full financial planning services for my clients. This means I can provide guidance and advice regarding such things as life insurance, disability insurance, and critical illness as well as retirement planning, estate planning, investment planning. And for those that own a business we have group benefit plans and group RSP plans available too.
When I am not providing financial services for my clients, I can be found spending time with my wife and 2 children, who enjoy bike riding, camping, traveling, and going to the movies. I also serve on the board of directors for our community’s hockey association, coach my son’s hockey team, and enjoy playing a variety of sports from hockey, to riding ATV’s, boating, and golfing.
